Growth, Opportunity and Love

Growth – Opportunity – Love

Hi, I’m Blake. You may have forgotten me due to the fact that I haven’t posted here in almost 9 months.  Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been active but just not here on the blog. My YouTube channel has grown quite a bit in the last 9 months. Other platforms like Facebook, Instagram, G+ Collections and Tumblr have all shown amazing signs of growth as well. Growth, Opportunity and Love are all around me.

I have even started a family over on Patreon.  Yes, I’m calling them a Continue reading Growth, Opportunity and Love

Kitchen: The Home’s Heart

Kitchen

Just think about that word for a minute. What images or memories do you go to when you think of kitchen? I’m going to guess that most of us will have fond memories of family events and special times with mom. There is just something really special that happens in the kitchen.

Food is so fundamental to who we are. Our very lives depend on it. Much of our culture is centered on the kinds of foods we eat and how it’s prepared. Families bond around preparation of food, and this happens in a kitchen. Continue reading Kitchen: The Home’s Heart

Extend Your Growing Season Into The Next Generation

Hi, Welcome to Daddykirbs Garden.

I want to share just for a moment the importance of sharing your passion, your knowledge and just time with the next generation.

Extend Growing Season Into The Next Generation

Find a kid in your life… someone nearby, someone from church, school, in your own family, a grandkid… somebody. Now don’t be upset if you can’t find one as cute as this one (see video at end of post for adorable prop!). See, this is my first and only grandson and he is the cutest kid in the world. Satisfaction in Making Compost

Here on the Daddykirbs Farm we like to make good use of every resource. Compost is a good way to do that. All the bedding and poo that is generated in the chicken coops, goat pens and duck coops can go to growing better veggies.

We all know the benefits of good compost, but that’s not exactly what I want to highlight in this post. Recognition goes to my helper, Luke. Continue reading Satisfaction in Making Compost

Appreciating Family

Family…. That word can muster a mix of emotions. Some good, some… not so good. That’s ok. Family are those that you love and they love you. We don’t always agree, but it’s nice to know that they are always there.

I want to take this moment to publicly appreciate my family. My wife and kids are amazing. I’m so proud of each of them. This year I will have the pleasure of watching my oldest daughter deliver into this world her first child. I’ve already decided that this baby boy will learn to call me “Poppy”. Sure “Grandpa” is a fine title, but I claim “Poppy”. My daughter will be a great mommy and son-n-law will be a fantastic daddy. I love you guys.

All my kids are wonderfully created. I thank God for the opportunity to be there for them. I see each of them growing up with different gifts and talents. I pray that they grow to learn how blessed they are. I love you guys.

I feel especially emotional when I think of the woman that God blessed me with. Honey, you are beautiful, kind and smart. You teach me so much! God has given you a fantastic ability to see the needs of others. You care about people and animals. Not only do you care, but you have a unique gift to know how to help. I don’t always understand how and why you do things, but I always appreciate your heart in doing them. I love you Honey!

Just for fun, I thought I’d throw in an image of my wife’s dog J.D.. He gets so sad when she is away. I understand how he feels. 🙂
