Giving Strawberries Shade: Recycled Materials

Giving Strawberries Shade: Recycled Materials

Summer heat is coming fast! This Strawberry bed was the ideal location in my garden because it gets the most afternoon/evening sun of all my garden beds! Well… when I planted it I didn’t know any better. Someday I’ll move my Strawberries somewhere else but for now they are right where they are.

This bed needs some shade, but I don’t want it to be completely shaded. I’m not sure where I got it, but I have this sheet of spun fiber that is perfect for allowing in some filtered sunlight. Another thing laying right there in the garden are a few broken tomato cages.
I decided to put these items together to create a little comfortable spot for these berries. They aren’t ready to be done… and I’m not ready to give up on them yet either 🙂

I like to keep materials that will be useful in the garden. I’m glad I kept this spun fiber cloth to shade my Strawberries.
