It was finally my year. My older siblings had gone before me and always came home excited. What was it like? Why were people telling so many stories? What were the life changing events? It seemed there was adventure! There was emotion! There were many new friendship bonds. This event was long awaited. Yes, I had waited a lifetime to go. Go where? Church camp. I was old enough to go to church camp!
Going to church camp was a rite of passage. This was the difference between being a child in church and being a “youth” who could participate in youth events. This was a big deal.
What is a water level? I guess first before going into that we need to understand a few things about water.
Water finds it’s own level.
If you think about the edge of a calm lake. It’s like a big bowl. All the way around the lake where the waters edge meets land is level. That is a contour line. If you find a way to mark that line, then drain the lake that marked line would be a level contour line in the landscape.

These are the 12 design principles of permaculture. Give the list a few minutes to soak in. Pile all those principles on top of the 3 ethics of Permaculture.
