Hi, I’m Blake. You may have forgotten me due to the fact that I haven’t posted here in almost 9 months.  Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been active but just not here on the blog. Just think about that word for a minute. What images or memories do you go to when you think of kitchen? I’m going to guess that most of us will have fond memories of family events and special times with mom. There is just something really special that happens in the kitchen.

Satisfaction in Making Compost

Here on the Daddykirbs Farm we like to make good use of every resource. Compost is a good way to do that. All the bedding and poo that is generated in the chicken coops, goat pens and duck coops can go to growing better veggies.

Appreciating Family

Family…. That word can muster a mix of emotions. Some good, some… not so good. That’s ok. Family are those that you love and they love you. We don’t always agree, but it’s nice to know that they are always there.

I want to take this moment to publicly appreciate my family. My wife and kids are amazing. I’m so proud of each of them. This year I will have the pleasure of watching my oldest daughter deliver into this world her first child. I’ve already decided that this baby boy will learn to call me “Poppy”. Sure “Grandpa” is a fine title, but I claim “Poppy”. My daughter will be a great mommy and son-n-law will be a fantastic daddy. I love you guys.

All my kids are wonderfully created. I thank God for the opportunity to be there for them. I see each of them growing up with different gifts and talents. I pray that they grow to learn how blessed they are. I love you guys.

I feel especially emotional when I think of the woman that God blessed me with. Honey, you are beautiful, kind and smart. You teach me so much! God has given you a fantastic ability to see the needs of others. You care about people and animals. Not only do you care, but you have a unique gift to know how to help. I don’t always understand how and why you do things, but I always appreciate your heart in doing them. I love you Honey!

Just for fun, I thought I’d throw in an image of my wife’s dog J.D.. He gets so sad when she is away. I understand how he feels. 🙂
