On the Daddykirbs Farm there once live no cats.
The word spread fast, then moved in the rats.
At first a few that were handled by pistol and traps.
Each night was a hunt, but it was like playing craps.
The kids on the farm always wanted new pets.
“No cats in the house” Daddy says, he was afraid they’d forget.
When mama asked if they could get a kitty.
Daddykirbs gave in because she was pretty.
The pen the I built seems so big and empty. The fence that I built seems too high. The garden is not at risk. The roses will likely grow back now. Our feed bill will be lower next month.
This post comes after a long deep breath. You see, our goat… Buddy, died this week. I never thought I’d mourn the loss of a goat, but I am.
Living with Buddy the Goat
Buddy was annoying, forceful when food was present and would jump any fence to get into trouble. He cost us so much in feed and infrastructure. A new goat house was built to accommodate Buddy’s unnerving ability to get out of almost anything. We love our Cavaliers! These are wonderful dogs. This all started with one little rescue dog names J.D. He is my wife’s love. J.D. is a real sweet heart.
Later, when our son wanted a dog, we looked for another Cavalier. In our search we found a wonderful lady who had to re-home her two Cavaliers. These two dogs just couldn’t be separated. Brax and Darla love each other. … and that is part of the story. You see, Brax and Darla are male and female. They came to us not fixed. We had Darla scheduled for the procedure but found that we were too late.
This litter of puppies, however unplanned, is a blessing. They are adorable. We love that the kids get to see the process of these puppies growing up.

We have a turtle that someone gave to us for a pet. We call her Carlita.
